Sarnia Sail Training

At Sarnia Sail Training we have been monitoring the COVID 19 situation very closely. We have been watching for every update available from the federal and provincial government. We have used this information along with guidance from Ontario Sailing to make an safe, informed decision about the 2020 sailing season. This has been a hard decision to make.

We are passionate about sailing, we have been and continue to be optimistic that we will be on the water doing what we love this summer. However keeping our students and staff safe is our first priority.

At this time due to the Government of Ontario’s emergency order, sailing schools are not permitted to operate. We have determined that even if the emergency order is lifted in the next few weeks and we are legally able to operate SST, we will not be able to. All classes for all levels and the Race Team have been cancelled for the month of July.

When the emergency order is lifted, social distancing and enhanced hygiene practices will still be in effect. This will be a serious challenge considering the structure and nature of our program. We continue to seek guidance from Ontario Sailing and will follow their expert advice in order to operate our program in the safest and most professional manner. We hold onto hope that we will be able to implement practices and procedures to hold a modified version of our program in August. We will provide further updates in the coming weeks.

If you have already registered for the July session you may reserve a spot in August if lessons resume or receive a refund. Please contact us regarding your options.
